We welcome new members. It does cost a bit to do the work of League; hence, we ask dues of our members. Annual dues are $55.00; more than one member per household adds $35 per person. In other words, $90 two people one household, $125 three to a household, etc. Also, full-time students and low income people are welcome to join for just $20 per year. Dues are payable to LWVAC and can be sent to Treasurer, LWVAC, P. O. Box 5788, Athens, OH 45701.
Remember, too, we can all support League by serving on one of our committees. Click on the About Us section at the top to see more information about committees.
The core mission of the League of Women Voters of Athens County (LWVAC) is to provide local voter services. We prepare a Voter Guide, published by The Messenger and distributed to various locations around the county, as well as appearing online at our website.
The LWVAC also sponsors candidate forums and town hall meetings to give voters the opportunity to learn about the candidates and the issue that would appear on the ballot.
We, the members of LWVAC, are grateful to The Messenger, the library, and the Community Center for their support of these activities, but we continue to need financial contributions from our fellow citizens.
The focus of LWVAC includes concerns of local impact, as well as issues designated by LWV Ohio and LWVUS, with the goal of sharing information with the public in order to promote informed voting.
We invite you to support the work of LWVAC. Checks may be made out to LWVAC and sent to LWVAC, P.O. Box 5788, Athens, OH 45701. If you would like your donation to be tax-deductible, make your check out to LWVAC Education Fund.
Thank you for your consideration.
