The core mission of the League of Women Voters of Athens County (LWVAC) is to provide local voter services. We are a non-partisan, issue-oriented organization committed to registering people to vote and to inform voters about candidates and issues. We partner with the Athens Messenger to produce the the Voter Guide, which is printed and distributed countywide, as well as being available on our website. Visit www.vote411.org for more information.
The LWVAC also sponsors candidate forums and town hall meetings to give voters the opportunity to learn about the candidates and the issues that would appear on the ballot. The focus of LWVAC includes concerns of local impact, as well as issues designated by LWVOhio and LWVUS, with the goal of sharing information with the public in order to promote informed voting.

The Voter Services Committee is actively involved in registering new voters and providing information to help them make educated and informed decisions in the voting booth. This committee also sponsors public forums where candidates share their thoughts about the issues of concern to voters in their constituency.
The Nominating Committee does just that: proposes nominees for offices and board at each annual meeting.
League is always in search of new members–of all genders!–to strengthen the organization. Come help this committee work to provide new members and new leadership.
This committee plans the programs for public and for League members for the year and makes recommendations to the Board.
